One of Netgear's latest routers has received a positive review, recognising its simple installation and ease of use.
Writing for ITProPortal, Desire Athow looks at the Netgear DG834G, a 54Mbps, 802.11g wireless ADSL firewall router that combines multiple functionality in one device.
She points out that Netgear's Smart Wizard install assistant and on-screen help guide makes setting up the router simple, with the ability to directly connect four computers.
Furthermore, the integrated firewall provides protection for users against intruders while a "sleek design" is ideal for offices or homes.
The author adds: "Installation is fast and easy thanks to a unique setup CD that automatically detects necessary setting and a configuration utility that lets you monitor signal strength and adjust security settings.
"Standard 802.11g compliant and backwards compatible, it works with either 802.11g or 802.11b wireless routers and access points."
Netgear recently introduced the ProSafe Smart Switch, designed to handle the growth of voice, video and data traffic among businesses.
