Netgear launches new Ethernet adapter - Network Accessories

Netgear launches new Ethernet adapter - Network Accessories International network equipment manufacturer Netgear has launched a new Ethernet adapter for those who cannot access a Wi-Fi connection.

The company's Moca Coaxial Ethernet Adapter Kit is also a good alternative to those who cannot use a power line adapter to connect to their network, claims the manufacturer.

The device uses standards coaxial wires to connect devices in a home entertainment network and can be used for games consoles, TVs, set-top boxes and PCs.

The device comes with two components, one which is place next to an existing router or modem, and the other which is connected directly to household appliances.

Cabling is then run between the two pieces of hardware.

It has a maximum transfer rate of 270Mbps, making it suitable for the transmission of high-definition video content, and it can be used in conjunction with cabling extenders.
