The Ideal Industries LanTEK II cable tester has been approved for use by two major companies that manufacture cable systems.
Both Tyco and Brand-Rex have confirmed that the device can be used in the installation of its products, including Cat5e and Cat6 cable solutions.
It has a 10.5cm widescreen display and offers up to 18 hours of field use at 350MHz, 500MHz and 1GHz.
Tyco said that the LanTEK II had exceeded all expectations in tests in terms of accuracy levels of key electric parameters.
Ken Hodge, R&D Manager at Brand-Rex Ltd, commented: "The new LanTEK II cable certifier is a significant advancement in test technology.
"In our tests, the LanTEK II proved reliable and consistent in the measurement of both screened and unscreened cabling systems."
Ideal Industries recently introduced the VDV PRO, a cable tester that, because of a dot-matrix screen, can work effectively in a dark environment.
