A new report has established how networking and IT vendors are performing in Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA) at the moment.
IDC Retail Insights has found that IBM has the largest share of the market compared with other vendors, while HP and Microsoft stand out among horizontal vendors.
Meanwhile, Oracle, SAP and Accenture all feature among the top vendors in the respective markets.
Ivano Ortis, research director, IDC Retail Insights, said: "While our vendor revenue estimates and demand-side data confirm the predominance of IBM overall, the competitive positioning of the top vendors in EMEA retail is rapidly evolving and diversifying.
"Retailers should carefully consider how these changes will impact their IT strategy and IT selection decisions."
A study by ABI Research recently established that Cisco continues to have over half the market share in enterprise-class wireless access points and is predicted to sell 11.6 million units in 2015.
