Jennic has launched a new product which it claims offers seamless connectivity between wireless and wired Ethernet systems.
The company claims that the IP-centric solution removes the need for complex gateway translations and allows low energy wireless networking solutions to be as pervasive and scalable as wired IP networks.
Jennic's 6LoWPAN Evaluation Kit includes an Ethernet border-router, which transfers data unchanged across wireless/wired barriers making transmitted signals readable on IP networks.
Geoff Mulligan, the chairman of the IPSO Alliance said "I have been working alongside Jennic for some time now and it's been great watching the progress they have made with their 6LoWPAN product."
He added that the new product will allow businesses to explore the potential of IEEE standards transmission over low-powered wireless connections.
Meanwhile, Jimi Simpson, Jennic's 6LoWPAN product manager, said the product would be demonstrated at the IPSO Alliance Networld + Interop event in Las Vegas.
Sheffield-based Jennic specialises in low-power wireless transmission devices and the supporting protocol software.
