Itheon has upgraded its Network Emulator (INE) for Windows, according to reports.
The upgrade will now allow applications which run on Windows to see wide area, 3G, GPRS and wireless conditions without having to leave the LAN.
The new version of the INE also includes support for Microsoft Vista, enabling a closer match of network conditions.
The product is aimed at IT and network specialists, as well as professional developers, website techworld.com reports.
Frank Puranik, product director, said: "Giving full support for INE for Windows on Vista is very important as there is no doubt that this will become the standard operating system for both corporate and home users, and organisations are now developing and testing their software for Vista."
He also told the website: "They'll certainly want to ensure their new Vista software is going to perform properly in WAN, wireless, satellite and other non-LAN networks."
