Fluke Networks launches Visual Performance Manager

Fluke Networks launches Visual Performance ManagerFluke Networks has revealed details of its new unified performance management software, according to media speculation.

Visual Performance Manager will manage data, video and voice streaming applications on distributed networks, website techworld.com reports.

Jeff Lime, senior vice president of marketing for Fluke Networks, said: "We brought together several solutions under one umbrella, integrated data sources, and developed a unified product to address customer needs to see a complete picture of application and network performance."

The software combines the NetFlow Tracker from Crannog Systems with Visual Uptime Select from Visual Networks.

The product uses SNMP to pull data from switches and routers and also monitors network traffic.

Zeus Kerravala, senior vice president of global enterprise research at the Yankee Group, told the website: "The software combines the visibility into application performance as well as root-cause analysis on the network, and that is very unique."

He added: "Most companies provide one or the other."
