TrendChip Technologies has introduced a line of new energy-saving switches that are specifically designed for broadband access platforms.
The TC2205F has four automatic energy-saving 10/100M ethernet ports that can detect ethernet cable length and unused network ports in order to manage power consumption.
Furthermore, it provides full and flexible settings with its QoS, VLAN, and IGMP V1/V2/V3 functions, ensuring that advanced network settings requirements are met.
Bomin Wang, president of TrendChip, hopes the product will contribute to the energy conservation and carbon emission reduction efforts of businesses, while also reducing operating and maintenance costs.
He added: "The automatic energy-saving switch chips for telecom end-products introduced by TrendChip will break the telecom norm and usher in a new, green, energy-saving century.
"Not only will this bring direct benefits to users by reducing their energy bills, this will also benefit telecom service providers."
A networking expert recently suggested that businesses should opt for greener switches in order to comply with the Carbon Reduction Commitment Energy Efficiency Scheme and other feed-in tariffs.
