Cisco has signed a deal with Tata Communications to showcase networking equipment to consumers.
The two firms are planning to work on a series of joint promotions to show the benefits of wireless.
A specially-designed van equipped with networking equipment is set to tour around areas to educate people about the advantages of going wireless.
Suresh Balasubramanian, national sales director in India for Cisco, said the two firms have a "shared vision of the wireless home and connected lifestyle".
He added: "Cisco enables the connected life by delivering communication and entertainment experiences that are more visual, more social and more personal.
"In this regard, working with Tata Communications helps us to extend the possibilities of a connected life through wireless solutions."
James Walker, vice-president of Tata, has told Business Line that the firm plans to have a round-the-globe undersea cable network in place by the end of 2009.
