Amphenol has released a new range of connectors that are particularly suited to hazardous environments
The Amphe-EX is explosion proof and can allow signals to pass through even in Zone areas as they are ATEX and IEC certified.
Users of the new connector may come from anyone trying to find networking solutions in oil and gas exploration, petrochemical plants and fuel storage sites.
The series of miniature connectors are aluminium plated, providing durability against corrosion, heat and scratching, while double-thread coupling means that dust and fluids are kept out.
Versatility is also a key attribute of the connectors as they are able to work with copper, coaxial or fibre contacts, and can also be adapted to either RJ45 or USB inserts.
Amphenol's ATEX range is also explosion-proof and a variety of shell sizes are available. Additionally they allow for crimp, solder or pressure contacts for power, signal or mixed applications.
