Technology firm Paxton Access has announced a new addition to its Net2 family of network devices.
It's Net2 plus features an in-built RJ45 socket allowing installation to any TCP/IP network and can also be used as a TCP/IP to RS485 converter with the addition of a control unit.
According to Paxton, the Net2 plus can help to reduce equipment costs and installation times where there is already an existing computer network present.
Sales and Marketing director at Paxton Access Adam Stroud said he the Net2 plus will "appeal to the growing number of installation companies familiar with TCP/IP networking".
He added: "The Net2 plus control unit has on-board TCP/IP meaning that it just pops straight onto the network. Not only is this very convenient for installation but it also removes the need for an expensive TCP/IP to RS485 adapter."
Paxton Access has recently launched the Net 2 nano, which it claims is a new wireless unit designed to offer single door access onto a network.
