Networking equipment manufacturer D-Link has introduced a new Ethernet-to-coaxial kit which allows users to connect devices to their home network using standard television cabling.
The new kit offers users the ability to transfer high-definition video, audio and data down standard cables.
D-Link's Coax Ethernet Adapter Kit, which has been unveiled at the Consumer Electronics Show 2009 in Las Vegas, is aimed at people wanting to add high bandwidth capability to their existing home network.
AJ Wang, chief technical officer for D-Link, said: "The technology is fast and a natural complement to our popular networking solutions for moving data into areas of a home where it may be difficult to run a cable."
He added that the kit offers a good alternative for Wi-Fi users who are struggling to get a good signal throughout their home.
D-Link also unveiled a 7-inch USB monitor at the Las Vegas show.
The SideStage is designed primarily for instant messaging users and those carrying out video conferencing.
