Network equipment manufacturer Corning Cable Systems has announced that its FutureCom S500 shielded copper RJ45 connector has received official certification.
The component, which is compatible with Cat6 cables and leads, has been deemed to meet the ISO/IEC Amd 1.0 and 2.0 international standard.
Corning's S500 RJ45 connector is part of the company's FutureCom EA system, which is designed to provide 10Gbps Ethernet connections over standard copper cabling.
It provides a universal platform for Ethernet, VoIP, telephone and TV data transmission, and also supports Power over Ethernet and Ethernet Plus.
The company states: "The FutureCom S500 modules incorporate robustness, ease of installation and handling, as well as high quality network performance."
"Installation is made simple and fast by the innovative three-piece design and the intuitive wire management system," the company added.
Corning Cable Systems is part of Corning Incorporated and the firm is also a leading manufacturer of fibre optic cable communication systems.
