New personal storage cloud network device from Seagate - Network Accessories

New personal storage cloud network device from Seagate - Network AccessoriesSeagate has launched devices for people who need data on the go and want to share their digital media.

The firm has unveiled its new FreeAgent DockStar which allows people to share data with "anyone from anywhere".

When connected via Ethernet cable to a home router, users can access the back-up drive from any network in the home.

Seagate claims that users can also access the web via the adapter on the go by using an iPhone and their username and password.

The firm adds the DockStar allows the Free Agent Go portable hard drive to be added to a network so anybody within or outside a home can access their own data on a "personal storage cloud".

Terry Cunningham, senior vice-president of Seagate Branded Solutions, said: "The majority of today's consumers are actively personalising their digital experiences, sampling and downloading niche content and video with increasing frequency.

"The FreeAgent DockStar delivers more than just a networking solution - it creates a personalised, shared experience that is controlled by the individual."

Network equipment manufacturer TelcoBridges recently received the Best of Show Award and Best Product Launch Award at the ITEXPO West 2009 event.
