Network downtime 'most problematic' for IT managers

Network downtime 'most problematic' for IT managersThe vast majority of IT experts said network downtime is the biggest bane of their jobs, according to a new survey.

Some 91 per cent of IT managers responding to a Netcordia survey cited downtime as the most problematic.

A quarter of them said that their network downtime average more than five hours each month, website Computer Weekly reports.

And these problems cost the companies significantly, with downtime setting them back an estimated £21,000 an hour in larger companies.

In order to alleviate this problem, the survey by Netcordia found that two thirds of IT managers are considering boosting their network management tools.
