Molex's latest high-bandwidth data cabling solution has been adopted by InfiniBand.
The company's 84-circuit iPass+ High Speed Channel and the 38-circuit iPass connector have been adopted as the new CXP 12x QDR and QSFP 4x QDR standard respectively.
According to InfiniBand, the integrated systems are ideally suited to situations where high density and performance are essential such as in data centres or storage facilities.
Jay Neer, strategic product manager at Molex Incorporated, said: "As InfiniBand competes to be the dominant I/O technology for the world's most powerful supercomputers, Molex developed several high performance interconnect solutions that enable them to achieve higher bandwidth."
The company's CXP 12x connector enables users to connect up to 12 10Gbps devices for a bandwidth potential of 120Gbps.
Recently, Deepak Jagtiani, regional sales director at Molex India, said that firms are future-proofing their data centre facilities with the latest fibre optic and copper cabling due to the huge expansion in data storage demand.
