Fujitsu Components has launched a new DDR3 (Double Data Rate) DIMM (Dual Inline Memory Module) socket connecter that provides extra memory for routers, servers and workstations.
The company claims the RoHS-compliant FCN-07 series will reduce faults and errors associated with DDR memory modules.
It points out that dust particles can often cause faults in applications with between ten and 80 sockets on the main board.
The new connector solves this problem with a patented twin-point contact structure which removes residue from module contacts to make sure the connection is a reliable one.
It also eliminates the need to manually clean and reseat numerous individual modules, which can be costly and time-consuming.
FCN-07 socket connectors are vertically mountable and have a 26mm profile. They are also lead-free and have a 25V AC voltage rating.
Last month, Fujitsu Components launched its FCN-078J series of card-edge socket connectors which also featured the patented twin-point contact technology.
