A range of new rugged connectors have been released by network equipment manufacturer Axiomtek.
The firm's Icon-32900 series can be used to covert standard Ethernet network signals into fibre optic cable transmissions.
According to Axiomtek, the new Icon-32900 offers a cheap and easy-to-use device that can boost networking interoperability.
The firm notes that its unique Link Fault Pass Through feature boosts the connectors' reliability.
Each connector also features redundant power functionality and a relay output alarm.
The devices have a dual speed 10/100Mbps RJ45 port which has both half and full duplex auto sensing.
It has an aluminium housing designed to dissipate heat quickly and efficiently and is also capable of being used in harsh industrial environments, as well as being able to cope with high temperatures.
Para Systems recently unveiled a new power surge protector for use with equipment that sports standard RJ45 connectors.
The company's Minuteman LineGuard is compatible with both analog and digital systems.
