Cisco still leader in wireless market - Network Accessories A new study has found that Cisco continues to lead the way in the enterprise-class wireless access point market.

Data from ABI Research has shown that Cisco has more than 50 per cent share of a market that will achieve 11.6 million units by the end of 2015

The research organisation suggested that WLAN equipment will see strong growth over the coming years in areas such as education and healthcare

Philip Solis, research director at ABI Research, said: "Aruba, Motorola, and HP are all keen to take market share away from Cisco."

"The merger of HP Procurve and 3Com] is likely to create a more competitive environment in the WLAN equipment market, especially for the giant manufacturers such as Cisco, Motorola, and Aruba."

Meanwhile, a study carried out by Infonetics Research recently established that Cisco is the leader in the router and switches market and has benefited from continued growth in the sector.
