Cisco offers more for data centres - Network AccessoriesCisco has announced developments for its Unified Computing System to allow businesses to achieve greater agility, automation and scale in their data centres.

The company has integrated CA Service Assurance and Service Automation solutions into the system and it hopes this will help to accelerate the deployment of new applications, among other functions.

Ed Bugnion, chief technology officer for the Server Access Virtualisation Business Unit at Cisco, said: "We are pleased to see that CA Technologies' solution will extend to the Cisco Unified Computing Systems' highly differentiated policies and abstractions, enabling our common customers to benefit from our innovation.

"The Cisco Unified Computing System and CA Technologies management solutions complement each other to help IT organisations reduce risk, increase IT agility and contain costs across the connected enterprise."

A new line of Cisco switches, the 100 Series, were recently released, providing small businesses with energy-efficient gigabit ethernet connectivity out of the box.
