Brocade has unveiled a new series of data rack switches aimed at enabling corporate users to reduce their overheads while boosting performance levels.
The new 'top-of-the-rack' solution for server virtualisation and data centre consolidation, the FCX Series, is available in speeds of ten, 100 and 100 Mbps with ten gigabit ethernet, thereby allowing for improved next-generation performance levels.
Launching the series, the company explained that, by stacking the new Barcode FCX switches across their server racks so as to create a single logical switch, users will be able to cut back on administrative costs, while also benefiting from simplified data centre management processes.
In addition, the new data centre switches also display network traffic information, thereby allowing users to stay on top of security and troubleshooting issues.
Company vice president for product management Doug Ingraham said: "With the addition of the Brocade FCX series, Brocade has taken a leadership role in advancing the data centre top-of-rack server connectivity market with one of the broadest portfolios of GbE and ten GbE-based solutions."
This comes as Reichle & De-Massari has unveiled its new RJ45 connector, with the FM45 credited with offering secure and reliable networking terminations.
