Belden has introduced some more switches to its Hirschmann portfolio to help connect workgroups to the backbone in production environments.
The Mach104-20TX-F, Mach104-20TX-FR and Mach104 TX-F-4PoE all provide ports for 20 RJ45 cables as well as combination ports for fibre optic cables.
Designed to operate at a range of between zero and 50 degrees C, the switches are made for standard 19-inch racks and plug-and-play commissioning.
For peace of mind and extra security, the configuration data and operating system for the switches can be saved onto a PC through the USB port and can be loaded onto a replacement switch should it be necessary.
Belden product manager Pascal Unterdorfer said: "This facilitates the realisation of integrated data networks from the management to the control and through to the field level without the need for repeated training of the customer's personnel."
Extreme Networks recently announced the introduction of the BlackDiamond 8900-xl modules and Summit X480 stackable switches, both suitable for managed hosting and enterprise data centres.
