Audio Impressions announces new Ethernet solution

Audio Impressions announces new Ethernet solutionDigital audio firm Audio Impressions has unveiled the latest development in its technology portfolio which allows the transmission of data over standard cabling.

The AudioPort Universal is a standalone version of the company's proprietary audio system which allows digital music equipment to communicate over gigabit Ethernet.

Audio Impressions' new technology allows users to transmit up to 32 channels of 192-kilohertz 32-bit digital audio between PCs, Macs and other networked devices using a standard gigabit switch and either Category 5e (Cat5e) or Cat6 cabling.

The company claims that the new technology allows audio professionals to use a home computer as the hub of their audio equipment network without the need for multiple dedicated audio cards.

"AudioPort is cross-platform, so it doesn't matter whether you're sending audio from one or more PC sample players to a PC or Macintosh based sequencer," the company states.

Meanwhile, DensiShield recently unveiled a new copper connector which allows data transfer rates of up to 10Gbit over channel lengths of up to 10-metres.ADNFCR-1186-ID-18982771-ADNFCR
