Platinum Tools launches crimping tool - Installation Essentials Platinum Tools, which specialises in equipment for the preparation, installation and hand-termination of wire and cabling, has released a new modular crimping tool.

The Ez-RJPro HD has been designed to terminate all RJ45 leads.

It works with Cat3, Cat5, Cat5e and Cat6 cables as well as four and six contact RJ11 wires.

The company notes that plugs can be used to terminate most regular cabling that does not fall into the above categories.

Lee Sachs, Platinum Tools' president and general manager, said: "The Ex-RJPro HD has been designed for the professional installer providing a ratcheted, high leverage, ultra stable platform for consistent, repeatable terminations."

He added that the heavy-duty tool is the perfect choice for contractors wanting to terminate larger-guage cabling, which have thicker wire and often come with tougher insulation aimed at industrial applications.

The device also has a built-in wire cutter and strippers.
