Wired home networks 'may be easier'

Wired home networks 'may be easier'Using cabling instead of wireless for a home network may be easier than using wireless, it has been claimed.

Writing for Gulf News, Todd Musseau said most desktops still do not come with wireless cards as standard.

He claimed that while users could purchase such a card if their home router is near to their computer it may be easier to use a patch cable and patch panels.

Mr Musseau said: "Cable is no more complicated than wireless. You just need to know the basics."

"Installing wall plates is just as simple," he added.

He stated that Cat6 cabling would allow computers on a network to operate more quickly if the machines are gigabit capable and added the new type of cabling is backward compatible and so can be used with older devices.

Meanwhile, AMFELTEC has released a new PCI Express Cable Extender, which allows easy access to debugging boards and works under the Windows, Linux and FreeBSD operating systems.ADNFCR-1186-ID-18849832-ADNFCR
