Versa has introduced a new device to its range of power over ethernet products.
The VX-Pi1000Gb PoE Injector can provide DC 48V over ethernet cables with 1000Mbps gigabit ethernet connection ability.
Capable of working with Cat5e and Cat6 cables, it has an auto-detect for POE IEEE 802.3af equipment and devices meaning damage is prevented if not installed properly.
Shaw Tien, chief executive of Versa Technology, said: "This product is going to make Wi-Fi hotspots easier to install and offer greater coverage. We are very excited to supply our customers with the fastest technology available."
Based in California, Versa provides fibre and copper for last mile solutions as well as manufacturing products for the implementation of next generation fibre optic networks.
Last year, a power over ethernet splitter aimed at the industrial sector was released by Advantech.
Using standard RJ45 connectors, it enables easy access to network infrastructure, allowing the user to transfer power and data over a single cable.
