Siemon has introduced a new cable solution that promises to be cost-effective while providing high-performance connections.
The SFP+ copper cable assemblies are designed for short reach links and, due to their low latency, can transfer up to ten Gbps per lane.
Fully shielded in die-cast housing, EMI leakage is also minimised by spring fingers, while twin-axial shielded cable provide superior signal strength.
Ed Cady, Business Development Manager for Siemon, said: "These same cables support serial single lane applications, such as RapidIO, RocketIO and other value-added IO interface links."
The new cables allow for a wide variety of protocols and interfaces including ten Gbps Ethernet single lane and FibreChannel over Ethernet.
Founded in 1903, Siemon supplies copper and fibre cabling solutions, including Cat5e and Cat6 assemblies to the networking industry, as well as other products.
The company recently released a new angled patch panel, the Z Max, which saves space in server cabinets. It also incorporates the company's Quick Snap design, saving valuable time during installation.
