Global industrial automation company TURCK has announced the launch of its Cat 5e Ethernet cables.
The cables are Gigabit capable and incorporate flexlife cable jackets which are resistant to abrasion, crushing forces and chemicals, making them particularly suitable for harsh duty environments, the company said.
In addition, the cables, which are available with 4 or 8 conductors (2 and 4 pair counts), can be specified with straight or right-angle RJ45 or M12 connectors, thereby accommodating diverse application requirements.
TURCK describes itself as a "leading manufacturer in industrial automation" providing "highly efficient product solutions for factory and process automation".
The company boasts a versatile range of more than 13,000 sensor, fieldbus, interface and connectivity product.
Meanwhile, it was reported last week that Ideal Industries has developed the first handheld tester specifically designed to troubleshoot industrial Ethernet cables.
The company's IENet Pro tester can verify the integrity of two and four-pair industrial Ethernet cables and detect open-circuits, short-circuits, mis-wires, reversals and split pairs at rapid speed.
