Network equipment manufacturer Siemon has introduced a new range of Cat6a patch cords which use a brand new RJ45 Smart Plug design.
Each Z-Max cable has an optimised printed circuit board integrated into the RJ45 connector, allowing the cord's transmission characteristics to be manually tuned.
According to Siemon, the innovative design allows network administrators to get the best possible performance from Cat6 cable transmissions.
The new leads are fully backward compatible with standard RJ45 outlets and come in both double-ended standard patch cord and solid core varieties.
"The Z-MAX cord's PCB-based design also enables its unique, high-performance Zero-Cross termination method," the company added.
Zero-Cross termination eliminates the need for pair uncrossing, which can increase the amount of signal noise and performance degradation common to non-PCB RJ45 plugs.
Siemon has also launched a new range of plug and play fibre optic leads, which it claims can be deployed 75 per cent faster than standard technology.
