Quiktron has released a new line of fibre optic cables that can reduce attenuation and make network installation easier by minimising bend issues.
The Bend Tolerant Fibre Cables reduce system attenuation, a common cause of downtime and unreliability, and experience little signal loss, even with bends as small as 7.5mm.
Bending cables is a problem often seen in server cabinets and data centres and even the smallest bend can lead to network downtime.
Quicktron's new product is capable of ten Gb Ethernet performance over 300m and one Gb over one km.
Bill Diederich, president Quiktron's parent company Lastar, said: "As high-density fibre networks become more widely adopted, the need for cabling technologies that provide performance and reliability is critical to continuing that growth.
"We are committed to making it easier for customers to implement these new fibre technologies."
Optical Cable Corporation recently introduced the High Density Bend Tolerant cable range, created for data centres among other applications, to tackle the same problems as Quicktron's release.
