New LED patch cables developed - Network Cables

New LED patch cables developed - Network CablesLeoni Kerpen and Datentechnik Moll have joined forces to develop a new LED cabling solution that allows for easy identification of patch leads.

The new Class EA patch cable uses LED technology with various flashing rhythms to identify individual leads and their connections.

According to the firms, the new technology allows engineers to trace the origins and destinations of cabling quickly and easily.

The cables light signal is activated with a small device which is inserted into the pair of contacts on the back of the cables connector.

Contractors and network administrators can then select a lighting rhythm on the handheld device and the other end of the cable will then begin to flash at the same rate.

The patch leads are standard Cat6 cables tested up to 500MHz and come in both shielded and unshielded versions.

Meanwhile, networking firm Siemon has introduced a new range of fibre-optic cabling products that are suitable for data critical applications.ADNFCR-1186-ID-19149258-ADNFCR
