New ethernet cables from Siemon - Network Cables

New ethernet cables from Siemon - Network CablesSiemon has announced a new cabling solution to help provide a cost-effective, low-power option for data centres and server rooms.

The QSFP+ ethernet cables are shielded, four-lane products that can provide interconnection over up to seven metres, making them ideal for a variety of applications.

Compatible with InfiniBand 4X SDR, DDR, QDR, FDR and ethernet 10G and 40G, assembly options are also available, integrating the cables.

The company said: "Advanced design and manufacturing processes, such as precision wire stripping and a unique automated termination process, result in optimised cross-talk control and return loss.

"The same automated processes result in Siemon's QSFP+ assembly's consistent and industry-leading signal integrity performance."

Getting the right ethernet cables is vital within a data centre or server room as any loss of signal or speed could prove to be critical to operations.

By using cable testers, it is possible to make sure there are no problems in copper or fibre cables.
