New bendable Fibre Leads released - Network Cables

New bendable Fibre Leads released - Network CablesOptical Cable Corporation (OCC) has released a new range of bendable optical Fibre Cables which it hopes will provide better performance than existing, commercially-available leads.

The High Density Bend Tolerant range is created for data centres, as well as other applications, and promises minimal dB loss.

With a low diameter, the cables can save space in tray systems, while also improving cooling efficiency. Core cable counts from two to 72 are available.

Ted Leonard, vice president of technology and engineering for Optical Cable Corporation, said: "We are proud to have developed a bendable cable that delivers exceptional performance characteristics and carries the lineage of OCC toughness and dependability."

BT is currently testing its optic cable broadband technology, offering speeds of up to 40 Mbps in three areas around the United Kingdom.

The tests will continue until April, with the company exploring the feasibility of expanding it further after that.ADNFCR-1186-ID-19570425-ADNFCR
