Computer giant IBM has teamed up with internet retailer Ash City to provide the firm with a new energy efficient data centre at its headquarters.
The new network has a reduced carbon footprint up to 50 per cent smaller than a standard data centre.
Ash City's new network will reduce costs and energy consumption, according to IBM.
Using IBM's Scalable Modular Data Centre technology the entire centre was up and running in less than a week.
It houses the company's servers in high-density server racks and is cooled with an efficient chilled-water cooling system.
Michael Suen, chief executive officer of Ash City said: "IBM is a trusted IT advisor, and brings the right expertise and solutions as we continue to grow."
Using existing cabling, the data centre will operate the firms voice-over internet protocol networking equipment and will allow for easy and quick network expansion.
Meanwhile, Lloyds of London is set to appoint IBM as its sole service provider for its new trading hub.
