The I3 Group has acquired networking firm Fibre Associates for an undisclosed sum.
Up until recently the I3 Group was trading under the name of H20 Networks and the acquisition will boost its range of fibre optic cable and fibre optic connectivity products.
According to I3 Group's chief executive officer Elfed Thomas, the move will allow the company to simplify its supply chain and benefit from the innovation available in Fibre Associates range.
"The acquisition of Fibre Associates forms part of our long-term strategy to build support for the group's main revenue activity in both the UK and international markets,” said Thomas.
He added that Fibre Associates has specific skills in fibre component procurement and will relocate its operations to I3 Group's new worldwide distribution centre in North Wales in the near future.
As well as dealing with networking equipment supply chains, Fibre Associates manufactures fibre optic patch leads and fibre optic patch panels.
