A new Quad Ethernet CoaxBridge product from Aboundi allows users to extend the use of IP devices and applications over old coaxial long-distance cabling infrastructure.
The new device means existing cabling can be re-used, allowing for reduced costs for companies expanding their network services.
Aboundi's VersatileWire technology is "specifically designed to minimize the obsolescence of the pre-existing coaxial cabling", according to Security Park.
The APL2400-200 UltraSpeed Quad Ethernet CoaxBridge can be connected to any 10/100 Mbps Ethernet ports on PCs and other peripheral devices such as Point of Service, IP cameras, monitors and serial serial servers, the website states.
"VersatileWire family of products allows a very simple plug and play installation with any new high speed Ethernet based devices," the news provider notes.
Meanwhile, a recent study by Tariff Consultancy found that Fibre to the Home services are beginning to compete in price with traditional broadband packages in Europe and are already undercutting ADSL2.
