Sumitomo's FutureFlex named product of the year


Sumitomo's FutureFlex named product of the yearSumitomo's FutureFlex Air-blown Fiber has been named Internet Telephony magazine's product of the year, it has been announced.

The product is an advanced fibre optic infrastructure solution which controls network capacity, bandwidth and costs brought about by businesses and IT companies.

It enables the quick and easy upgrade, expansion or reconfiguration of the network through the blowing in or blowing out of any type of fibre bundle – whether multimode, laser optimised or single-mode.

It has already been adopted at the Pentagon, ConocoPhillips, John Hopkins University and Vancouver International Airport, among other locations.

Kurt Templeman, enterprise network manager for Sumitomo, said: "We are very pleased that a prominent IT publication has recognised the benefits of the FutureFlex Air-blown Fiber technology."
