Siemon has unveiled a new line of plug and play fibre optic cable solutions.
According to the firm the new MTP cabling combines cutting-edge performance with high speed deployment and plug and play compatibility.
Siemon claims the new structured cabling equipment was designed from the ground upwards to "satisfy the needs of high-performance data centres".
The new devices support 10Gbit transmission and they are future-proofed for 40 and 100Gbit applications as well.
"Siemon plug and play system's factory terminated and tested connections guarantee maximum channel throughput without the performance variability of field terminations," the company said.
It also claimed that the cabling can be deployed 75 per cent faster than traditional solutions and that the simple connectors are "greener" because they reduce waste.
However, according to Search Networking, high-speed Ethernet over standard copper cabling is suitable for a wide range of data centre applications and the technology offers businesses a more affordable solution and a simplified network layout.
