New fibre optic connector created - Fibre Leads

New fibre optic connector created - Fibre Leads Neutrik has introduced a new fibre optic cable connector at the Infocomm 2009 conference.

The rugged four-channel connection system is aimed at businesses requiring point-to-point cabling hardware.

It is suitable for multi-channel applications and is dust tight and water jet protected.

The Opticalcon Quad system comes in several variations including a four and 12-channel configuration and the company claims it is suitable for outdoor use.

"With the introduction of our upgraded Opticalcon Quad , we have fine-tuned our technology to offer the installation market the ultimate in fibre connectivity," says Pete Milbery, managing director of Neutrik.

The firm states that the cabling connector offers contractors a simpler installation process and results in a more reliable, hard wearing connection.

Last week, Deutsch announced that it had developed a range of composite connectors for use in network systems using RJ45 cables.

The high-performance connector makes standard connections capable of withstanding industrial conditions and the firm claims they are particularly suitable for military use.ADNFCR-1186-ID-19191438-ADNFCR
