Harting launches outdoor fibre optic cabling - Fibre Leads

Harting launches outdoor fibre optic cabling - Fibre Leads Network equipment manufacturer Harting has launched a new fibre optic lead for use in harsh conditions.

The new LC fibre optic cable offers a complete assembly solution, suitable for multimode purposes, which has been outdoor rated.

Harting's PuchPull LC connector can be used in conjunction with the new lead, meaning the device comes pre-tested and ready to install.

According to the firm, its LC solutions have exceptionally low loss rates over long distances and also have a high bandwidth – so are suitable for mission critical applications.

The company states that in contrast to standard copper leads, such as Cat5 and Cat6 cables, the transmission signal is completely immune to electromagnetic interference, and so they are ideally suited to situations where there is a large amount of background electrical noise.

Meanwhile, Clark Wire & Cable recently introduced a new ruggedised RJ45 cabling connector that is designed for use with Cat5e cables.ADNFCR-1186-ID-19247922-ADNFCR
