Half of broadband customers could switch deals - Fibre Cables  Half of businesses in the UK that use fibre cables might be dissatisfied with their broadband provider.

According to research carried out by Broadbandwatchdog.co.uk, 56 per cent of broadband users are looking to switch supplier this year.

Some 14 per cent of respondents said they were unsure whether to try a different deal or stick with the same one in 2011.

Mark Ward of the website commented: "Having over half of broadband customers looking to change their provider in 2011 is good to hear.

"Customers need to keep shopping around to get the best broadband deals available to them as not all broadband providers will upgrade existing customers to the latest deals and pricing plans automatically," he added.

The findings of the poll come after Intel unveiled a new high speed connector called the Thunderbolt, which promises to increase transfer speeds by up to twice as fast as USB 3.0 speeds.
