Fibre optic lead manufacturer H20 Networks has announced it is to become a leading sponsor of the International Dark Fibre (IDF) conference this November.
The event, which will run between November 5th and 6th, will take place in London.
In its second year, the IDF will bring together a number of next-generation cabling specialists, who will discuss the future of the sector as well as any regulatory changes that may impact on the proliferation of fibre optic cable installation.
Rural internet access, metro networks and national funding will all be addressed at the conference.
Graham Dupree, business manager at H2O Networks, said: "Businesses are demanding higher bandwidth as voice and data running over the corporate network increases due to applications such as VoIP and sharing videos and other media rich content becomes more commonplace."
Recently, BT revised its fibre optic cable broadband plans and expects twice as many homes as previously thought to be connected to its offering by 2012.
