The home networking solutions offered by Gigle Semiconductor have been officially recognised as HomePlug AV complaint by the HomePlug Powerline Alliance.
Gigle has announced its GGL541 and GGL301 system-on-chip integrated circuits have been recognised by the alliance.
The family of chips can deliver dual-channel mediaxtream 1 Gbps technology across powerlines, coaxial cables or phone lines and increase "network coverage and reliability", according to the manufacturer.
Juan Carlos Riveiro, president of Gigle, said: "The ability to reliably deliver high-definition content to any location in the home is the holy grail of home entertainment networking.
"Combining the proven capability of HomePlug AV on powerline with Gigle's mediaxtream 1Gbps technology on any wire provides consumers with vastly more robust coverage and higher data throughput than any other solution available today."
Hitachi Cable Manchester recently announced it was set to showcase a new range of networking equipment at the Building Industry Consulting Service International 2009 Spring Conference and Convention in Baltimore.
