Fibre optic cables are the future of networking as businesses demand faster and more reliable data connections, it has been claimed.
According to TeleCayman, as the global economy has grown the need to transmit data instantly has come to the fore and financial institutions were among the first to adopt fibre optic leads to address the issue.
However, financial institutions are not the only businesses that could benefit from the cutting edge network equipment, the company stated.
"We felt that it was the right thing to do at this time," explained the firm's director of technical operations Bob Kanner.
"We are corporate focused. Copper wire has its limitations, and we want to give our clients the best, which is fibre," he added.
He went on to point out that the limited bandwidth of copper cabling forces many companies to boost their download speeds and limit their upload speeds but this can be avoided with a fibre optic solution.
Meanwhile, British fibre optic cable firm i3 is almost trebling its workforce to 200 people due to the sector's growth.
