Corning introduces new fibre optic cabling - Fibre Leads

Corning introduces new fibre optic cabling - Fibre Leads Specialty network equipment manufacturer Corning has introduced a new range of fibre optic solutions aimed at data centre managers.

The company claims that its LANscape Pretium Edge solution promises to double cabling density in data storage facilities.

Corning has developed a whole fibre optic installation kit, which includes optical trunks, harnesses, housings and jumpers, as well as fibre optic leads.

According to the firm the new networking solution will improve deployment times by 35 per cent, will provide users with 25 per cent faster data transmission and offer 100 per cent greater cabling density.

The company said: "There is no time consuming fibre preparation and termination as found in traditional field installations.

"There are no consumables or piece parts and no tools are required other than a screwdriver for installation of hardware."

Earlier this month, H2O Networks confirmed it was set to expand its fibre optic cable network in Yorkshire.ADNFCR-1186-ID-19260293-ADNFCR
