The Country Land and Business Association (CLA) has asserted that people in rural areas are "frustrated" by the slow connections through their ethernet cables.
Next month the national Get Online Week begins on October 30th and ahead of the public awareness campaign, the CLA has urged people in these regions to make their voice heard through its own Can't Get Online Week.
CLA president William Worsley explained the group is lobbying to ensure that all businesses, even those in remote areas, can take advantage of high-speed internet access, something that may be achieved through fibre cables.
"People and businesses in rural areas feel considerable frustration about how hard it is to get a good, reliable broadband connection," he stated.
Can't Get Online Week is organised by the CLA alongside IT and social media expert John Popham, who asserted that those living in the countryside often come up against "seemingly impossible barriers of connectivity, technology or attitude towards something new".
According to Akamai's most recent The State of the Internet report, those who want the fastest connections to the internet through their ethernet cables should consider living in Bradford, which topped the rankings with an average download speed of 6.1Mbps.
