Shipments of fibre channel switch ports went up once again over the third quarter of 2007, according to new figures.
A report by the Dell'Oro Group revealed a 30 per cent rise when compared to the same three-month period last year.
Meanwhile, the group's figures also showed that host bus adaptor shipments stayed the same for the third month in a row.
Tam Dell'Oro, president of the company, said: "We see some interesting dynamics now that Brocade has its 8Gbps platforms in qualification at its major resellers.
"For the first time since Brocade announced its intention to acquire McData, Brocade gained share, particularly at the high-end. We surmise that Brocade has gained credibility by being first-to-market with a next-generation platform and delivering a product that customers can touch, feel, and see the future migration path."
