Dell introduces new cable management system - Network Cables

Dell introduces new cable management system - Network Cables Network equipment manufacturer Dell has launched a new PowerEdge server with an innovative cable management system.

The Dell PowerEdge R710 uses the Intel Nehalem processor and is aimed at the two-socket, two unit server market.

It incorporates a cable management arm and tray that can help de-clutter server racks and server cabinets, allowing for easy access to connections.

"One of the most important factors to a server is the practicality of the cable management. The arm has a nice built-in containment using hoop and fabric connections," network administrator Rick Vanover told Tech Republic.

He claimed that cabling clutter is not an issue often addressed by server manufacturers, but added that the Dell PowerEdge R710 does a good job of housing wiring in a small space.

Dell recently teamed up with Panasas, which creates data intensive and mission critical storage solutions for industry, to provide a computing solution for the life sciences research community.ADNFCR-1186-ID-19177101-ADNFCR
