SM Pro Audio's CT3 professional cable tester is on the verge of being released by the company.
According to the company, similar systems have been available for Cat5e cables and Cat5e leads for many years.
The new device is aimed at roadies, engineers, installers and musicians and is capable of testing a variety of cabling from BNC through to RJ45 leads.
Each end of a cable needs to be connected to the device and the CT3 will automatically report the status of its integrity.
Housed in a durable metal chassis, the CT3's innovative two-part design allows cabling to be tested over long distances when it is impossible to get both ends of a cable into a single device.
The cable tester has eight automatic LED indicators and can cope with RJ45, RJ11, MIDI, RCA, BNC, XLR and RCA phono leads.
SM Pro Audio had a stand at the recent NAMM Show 2009, which was held between January 15th and 18th.
