A British cabling manufacturer has won a top award for attaining high standards in all areas of the operation.
The company which manufactures a range of network equipment, including Cat5e and Cat6 leads.
Brand-Rex Specialty Cabling Solutions became one of only four organisations in the north of England to receive the Continuity Marque of Excellence.
The award was presented by secretary of state for health Andy Burnham.
Mr Burnham told the Leigh Journal: "I am very pleased to acknowledge the high standards that Brand-Rex has demonstrated in achieving the Continuity Marque of Excellence."
"In today's challenging economic climate no business can afford to stand still and Brand-Rex’s commitment to continuous improvement is to be applauded," he added.
The company, which employs 110 people at its structured cabling manufacturing plant in Leigh, told the news provider that striving to get the award has helped the company drive down operating costs and increase its market share.
Meanwhile, IT industry analysts Datamonitor claim that as the recession bites more firms are looking to greener networking solutions to help reduce costs.
